In September, I came out of hockey retirement to take part in Warwick Hockey Club’s attempt to set the world record for the most number of players in an exhibition match. I exhibited my limited skills for 20 minutes (although seeing the guy who gave me a lift to hospital 20 years ago after a stick in the face during my second ever game of hockey was not a great omen!). Good to see my ‘stop ball, pass ball to one of my team’ tactics still just about worked.
It was a fantastic event and an absolute pleasure to support the Club. I know how much work goes into organising a World Record attempt, so I’m keeping everything crossed for them. Hope it’s a yes from Guinness.
Ready for the match!
